This question is not really a question for me. However, I think it'd be a great pre-screening question for a boyfriend!
Do people really just want the easy way?
It's been over a week, and a short conversation that I had with ex-husband is still bugging me. I'm so glad that Hannah witnessed it. It sums up a lot about who her parents are. It explains a lot. I can't even remember what comment lead up to this exchange. We were watching "Back to the the Future" because Hannah had never seen that cultural classic from my youth.
I said, "Life's not easy."
Ex incredulously asked me, "You don't think that life should be easy?"
I replied, "No, life should be happy for the most part, but that sometimes doing the right thing is not doing the easy thing."
He looked at me like he couldn't comprehend, but Hannah understood. Her dad's comments have bothered her as well, as she keeps bringing it up, that she cannot believe that he believes that!

It's the challenges in life that make life interesting. If life were easy, it would become boring.
Hey, there! I missed you guys! I'm back in town and trying to catch up on my blog reading. I totally agree with you on this one. Those who had the easy way in life and really slid through with lots of luck and little conflict/struggle really do not appreciate the good things. Or the little things. It's kind of like those folks down in FL who totally take their warm weather for granted. Up here, we relish our summers and appreciate every single day of them, because we know that there are lots of cold, dark days. But those people down there don't even know what they have.

Sheesh! How clueless can one person be? I'm glad that
Hannah is smart enough to pick up the fact that it is total BS. Sometimes I think that it's the hard parts about life that make it worth living because you can't become complacent. Seems to me it would be a disappointing life if you always just expected things to be easy all the time. I'm defintely glad that you are a very aware person!
